Mr Yan Qiu

Mr Yan Qiu has more than 15 years’ experience within the education and corporate sectors. He has been the Principal Executive Officer and Director of International Operations for the Ozford Education Group since 2002. He is a results focused and effectual leader with proven ability.
Yan has demonstrated his leadership qualities in developing the vision and mission of the Ozford Education Group. He has been innovative, maximising revenue, developing IT infrastructure, and leading the Ozford Education Group to achieving long-term viability in a dynamic and at times challenging international student marketplace. Yan’s areas of expertise are Information Systems and International Education Marketing.

Ms Rong Liu completed her undergraduate degree in Education, majoring in Business Studies at the University of Melbourne. In 2000 Rong completed her Postgraduate Diploma in TESOL at the University of Melbourne. Since 1995, Rong has been working actively in both managerial and teaching roles in various Victorian schools. She has worked for some very prestigious schools; both public and private. Rong has extensive experience with in the Ozford Education Group as the Director of Studies of the Ozford English Language Centre (2002 – 2007), and the Academic Director of Ozford College of Business (2007 –current). Within these roles Rong has managed up to 11 executive managers, more than 80 academic staff and 40 support staff. She has coordinated AQTF and ESOS audits, developed and prepared course accreditation documentation ,and assumed financial reporting responsibility for all three colleges in the Ozford Education Group.

Rong’s area of specialty and interest has always been International Education and TESOL. One of her aims is to improve and enable growth in international student confidence, self – esteem and understanding. Making a positive difference to student confidence and academic performance is one of the great rewards in Rong’s career. A fluent speaker in Chinese; both Mandarin and Cantonese, she is able to develop a great rapport with students from non-English speaking backgrounds.

Mike possesses significant higher education management experience in universities and colleges in Australia and overseas. He held senior positions in business schools at the Holmes Institute, the International College of Management Sydney, RMIT University and James Cook University. In the UAE, he served as Academic Director at the Higher Colleges of Technology in Abu Dhabi. Mike’s academic interests span the fields of management, international business and high performing organizations, especially in areas related to Chinese and Middle Eastern business environments. He is a strong advocate of business education programs that combine theory and practice, delivered in an applied curriculum. Mike also has expertise in expertise in enterprise risk management, which he uses as a non-executive director of companies in Australia and Singapore.

Peter Ngigi, Course Coordinator (Accounting), Ozford Institute of Higher Education is responsible for planning, designing and delivering accounting courses, ensuring quality, integrity and student outcomes meet OIHE standards. Peter’s employment background includes many years of teaching accounting and financial management courses at tertiary level both in Australia and overseas. He is a student-focused teaching professional, committed to providing a well-balanced, supportive, and engaging learning environment for all students. As an accountant, Peter has highly developed conceptual and analytical skills with knowledge and proven ability to conduct quality research and analyse data. He has published in refereed journals in the area of accounting and finance.

Kerry’s experience as a tertiary Librarian stems from many years at a large Victorian university library. She was Faculty Librarian in Education, and her role supported the Education, Languages and Linguistics Faculties, with liaison, expert knowledge, advice, collaboration, training and research support, to both students and academics. She is also well versed in Research Data Management, having worked with many researchers to help them achieve their research aims. Her previous experience in a specialised Health Sciences Library, has given her skills and a wide medical knowledge, to assist a diverse variety of Library users. She brings these skills to Ozford, where she assists students across the broad educational spectrum Ozford encompasses. With Ozford’s higher education students being her foremost responsibility, Kerry is skilled at assisting them, and other Ozford Library users to accomplish their learning needs.

Anne’s teaching philosophy is premised on the belief that the main purpose of education is to instill desire for each individual to achieve their maximum potential in life, a love of learning, celebration of cultural diversity, courage and confidence to participate as individuals in a society that values the contribution of others. In her role as a support and TESOL professional, Anne plays the role of mentor and guide, providing support and guidance to students learning and encouraging them to achieve their life-long goals is essential. Anne believes she has a responsibility to ensure that each of her students grow and develops into a compassionate and socially responsible citizen who is ready to take part in an ever increasing global community.

English language programs taught by Anne include, EAL for Victorian secondary schools, Certificate of General Education for Adults(CGEA), Language Literacy and Numeracy(LLN) using the ESL Frameworks curriculum, Certificate in of Spoken and Written English(CSWE) including the Preliminary Course in Spoken and Written English to Certificate 111, English for Academic Purpose(EAP) and English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS). Teaching experience also includes delivering English language to the Adult Migrant English Program (AMEP).

John originally taught Business Studies in High Schools and then spent 20 years as Principal of High Schools in Victoria. and then spent some time as Manager of the Prahran School District of the Victorian Education Department.

He also worked for ten years as a Lecturer in the School of Business at the Australian Catholic University (Melbourne Campus)

After strong experience in oil & gas with ExxonMobil (1985-2008) and management consulting (2009-2013) John started teaching postgraduate and undergraduate finance and accounting. He gets great joy from seeing students make a serious effort to progress their studies and improve their career prospects.

Outside of teaching FIN2100 at Ozford, he is currently lecturing and coordinating units for La Trobe University, Southern Cross University and Melbourne Polytechnic. His teaching interests include Equities Valuation, Financial Mathematics, Capital Investment Analysis, Financial Risk Management, Corporate Finance, Accounting Theory and Financial Accounting. His professional qualifications include accounting, operations research and financial planning.

Personal interests include history, languages, swimming, mountain biking and tennis.

Ms Thiru Thiagarajah is a Lecturer in both undergraduate and postgraduate courses and specializes in Management and Financial Accounting. She completed a Master's degree at the Monash University, Australia, a Member of the Certified and Practising Accountants, Australia and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, UK. She has over 20 years of experience in Financial Management, Budget Management, Activity Based Costing and Financial Governance and has held Senior positions in the Commercial, Not for profit and the Public sector. She has spent the last 10 years Lecturing and Tutoring in the Academia at various universities and works as Senior Research Officer at the La Trobe University. She brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to Ozford College and is a valuable member of our Academic team.

There are many events happening in the real world which touch on the content taught in company law. Learning law certainly equips all business students with great skills for analysing situations, understanding how law regulates different organisations and above all assists us all in professional lives and future.

Mr Kailash Gupta has extensive teaching experience at tertiary level in the fields of Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, Financial Management and Auditing. He completed his two Masters from University of Delhi in India. He taught degree courses at one of the constituent colleges in University of Delhi, India for over twenty years before moving to New Zealand where he taught MBA, Bachelor in accounting courses for over eight years. He has also got teaching experience in Iraq and China. Mr Gupta is teaching Master, Degree, Advanced Diploma and Diploma courses at various tertiary providers in Australia for over last twelve years.
Mr Gupta has a highly developed and matured organizational and managerial skills with good team spirit and is capable of providing sound leadership and motivation and has strong and effective communication skills.
